Streams Of Time

Lately i have been daydreaming a lot about time, and i keep seeing an image in my mind. It's an image that i feel helps to illustrate the way time operates.

Picture that there is a long, flat, sandy surface that slowly slopes downward for miles and miles.
(The sands represent all of existence; it's the physical universe.)
At the very top of the long, flat slope we introduce a small amount of water. For the purpose of this analogy the water flows continuously at an even rate.
(The water represents time.)
The top of the slope is where time first begins to flow, and as it moves downwards into the future, it carves out a thin path in the sand. The water moves as a thin stream from past to future. Now we introduce a single celled amoeba in the stream that is carried along the flowing currents.
(The tiny organism represents you or me - a human life.)

As life moves forward in the flow of time, there are always situations that appear, forcing us to make a choice. As a pebble appears in the path of the stream, the water splits off into two directions. Now the single cell must make a decision as to which path it will follow.

Each time an obstacle splits the single stream into two or more branches the amoeba is presented with probable futures, probable outcomes. Each of us lives in this fashion every waking moment. Each choice we make will divert our life down a new path, filled with its own obstacles and outcomes.

Imagine that as we approach a fork in the stream, we divide and split into two organisms. One cell follows one path, and the other cell travels along the other path. Though we have split into two 'selves', we can only be aware of one. The other amoeba - even though it began as you/me - also continues unaware of our experience along our stream. It is only aware of its own existence, its own reality in time.

These branches in the streams of time are what we call "parallel" or "alternate realities", because they are theorized to exist alongside our current reality. That is, even though we are consciously aware of the experiences taking place as a result from taking the left stream rather than the right one, the stream to the right continues to flow with an amoeba of its own - another version of you/me.

I feel this is a good representation of the human consciousness as it explores all possible realities throughout its existence. Each unique individual must remain unaware of its counterparts in order to remain fully submerged in one series of chosen experiences.
The whole consciousness - the soul or Higher Self - can stand back and observe every single celled amoeba along every branch since the initial time stream began.

At this point we can see that altering our future events is as simple as making a choice, choosing the direction of our life. Sometimes we can even shape our future before a choice is presented. The amoeba can take control of its own life.

In the grand scheme of things the choices of a single cell may seem rather small in the flowing streams of time. It would be like tossing a large grain of sand in the path of the water. The waters might be slightly diverted, but the significance would only be visible to a few cells. To purposefully create greater course corrections a lot more energy would need to be exerted.

If enough people get together with a single purpose/intention in mind, large scale changes can result. Using the analogy, it would take millions of amoebas working in unison to hurl a pebble into the path of the stream. However, if the energy is successfully exerted, the long term results could be substantial. The course of history could be greatly influenced.

Let us look back at the initial point where the water first began to flow. By this point a lot of time has passed and the unending flow of water has carved out a deep channel in the sandy surface. The initial stream has become like a great river and the past has become very permanent. I feel that this accurately represents the collective history of humankind. The more people that believe the same past, the more concrete that past becomes. Our cumulative, collective beliefs are Thought Energy that maintains an unaltered history.

But wait. Does this mean that i'm suggesting the past is somehow alterable? In a word, yes.

As the streams of time flow forward the perceived past is shared by more and more people, making that past more 'real'. Unlike changing the course of the future, changing the deep currents of the past would require a lot more energy. A greater obstacle would be necessary to change the water's direction.

The Higher Self, however, stands over the entire flowing system and its many diverted paths. The human soul might be able to move the necessary boulder into place, even if it takes a little help from other souls. However, there may still be another alternative.

There are theories suggesting that every possible reality already exists. Therefore, any past one could dream of has already been formed. The souls have already placed boulders into the rivers at the top of the slope. So instead of finding a way to change the streams of time, the amoeba can find a way to leap into a parallel path of water/time, instead.

From the cell's point of view, it would be the same as changing the past. To exist in a reality where the dinosaurs survived extinction, the cell would have to find where the streams branched off into a reality without dinosaurs, and swim into the correct path.

I know it sounds far fetched and impossible. As an amoeba swept along the streams of this reality it seems impossible to me, too. But we are far more than specks swimming through time. We are also the grand observer that exists above the two dimensional (technically 3D or 4D) existence of the amoeba.

In fact, i truly believe that most (if not all) of us often catch small glimpses into alternate versions of this reality. We simply aren't aware of what it is we have just experienced. I, myself, have felt sure that i have witnessed changes in details of this reality. Some clues are very small, like being absolutely certain that a house i have passed by for years and years used to have double doors, but now the house is only big enough fit a single front door.

What's more, some people (myself included) have been clearly shown alternate outcomes and/or have experienced 'leaping into' a parallel stream of time. It's only the consciousness that transfers over into a new timeline. The physical amoebas already exist in any past or future streams we can imagine. It's just the awareness that enters into the unique experiences of a different stream.

I have no idea if any of this makes sense to you, my beloved reader, but it's a topic that i feel passionate about and one i feel i have a strong internal knowing about. This knowing certainly combines the topics of space-time and other dimensions - for i feel they (and their laws) are intimately related to one another. More importantly, i feel that this knowing shows the unparalleled genius and Divine nature of GoD. And since our Higher Selves have access to some of these aspects of the divine, creative genius of the Universe, it also shows the love that GoD has for us all.
